The new Buzz Rickson's Type E-1 vest is a high-accuracy reproduction of the U.S. Air Force emergency radio vest from the 1950s. The vest is made from a double layer nylon oxford fabric, utilised for its textured, durable finish. The unique detail of this vest is the under arm pockets with leather taping, originally used to store radios and pass the cables through, this historic feature can be used today for carrying modern devices. The adjustable grosgrain tape was installed to aid in the carrying of heavy equipment and the vest style was designed so that the garment can be layered either under, or over jackets, dependent on the fit.
